The Urbandale Food Pantry is a collaborative community effort to reach out to our neighbors to provide food assistance with dignity and compassion.
Since the Pantry opened in 2008, the average number of individuals served per month has steadily grown. Beginning in 2016, we began serving residents throughout Polk County.
Who We Are
The Urbandale Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization. UFP partners with the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC), the Urbandale Ministerial Alliance, local churches, civic organizations, city officials, and area residents to provide supplemental food for those with need.
We employ a full-time Executive Director and part-time Assistants. We are staffed by volunteers who share the desire to fulfill the food pantry's mission of helping our neighbors in need.

Board of Directors
An eleven-member board provides strategic vision and monitors UFP's fiscal and operational integrity. The current members of the board are: Cindy Morton, president; Bill Raisch, vice-president; Jolynn Corkrean, treasurer; Andrea Heerdt, secretary; Sue Koch, past-president; and directors Nathan Gast, Julie Haggerty, Megan Kruse, Rob Olney, Jane Robinette, and Kay Schoon.
