New Building Updates

Nourishing our community, a new space to better serve.

For more than 15 years, the Urbandale Food Pantry has served families in the Urbandale community and surrounding areas. At present, our current facility limits our ability to meet the immense needs of our community. Recent growth and a rapid increase in demand have exceeded the current building's capacity. To continue providing these essential goods and services, we have launched $3.5 million capital campaign to renovate and expand a building in a new location at 7901 Douglas Avenue.

The 8,600-square-foot building will include additional space for the food and personal care item pantries, increased storage space, and dedicated areas for training, office, and administration. This meticulously designed space will help to heightenour efficiency, allowing us to continue to grow for years to come.

As we continue construction, our capital campaign remains active, and we still need the support of our generous community to help us reach our fundraising goal. With $1.9 million already secured from individual donors, foundations, and local partners, we are well on our way to achieving our $3.5 million target. Every contribution gets us closer to creating a space that will empower families, provide essential services, and strengthen our community.

We are thrilled to share some exciting progress on our Nourishing Our Community Capital Campaign! On September 27th, we celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for our new facility, marking the official start of construction. It was a day filled with hope for the future of the Urbandale Food Pantry and the families we serve. We were honored to have community leaders, partners, and supporters join us to celebrate this momentous occasion.
